The Canon EF-M 18-150mm f/3.5-6.3 IS STM is a truly multi-purpose zoom for the EF-M bayonet, with a 28.8-240mm equivalent in terms of kinematic equivalents. The focal length achieves 8.3X zooming. The optical formula is lightweight and small. The lens has a smooth continuous AF implemented by stepper motors, and a seven-blade rounded iris. The lens is deceptively lightweight and small enough to fit in a pocket. Its shortest focusing distance is just 25cm and the image stabilizer makes it very versatile. For multimedia photographers, the STM AF motor is ideal for smooth and almost silent focusing. The image stabilizer really helps a lot (about 4 apertures) at longer distances if the shooting technique is not quite mastered. And if the body has a cell stabilizer, the stabilization is a combination of these when shooting video. The EOS M5 also comes with a pan mode that helps with sideways moving subjects.
