With a 24.2 megapixel full 35mm screen Exmor RS stacked CMOS sensor and BIONZ X processor, the a9 is capable of shooting at 20 frames per second, recording UHD 4K video internally, and using an extended ISO scale up to ISO 204800. The use of alternate focus points also allows the use of A-bayonet lenses with LA-EA3 or LA-EA1 bayonet adapters using continuous focus tracking. The clever focusing system has also improved all the autofocus settings of previous models, including Lock-on AF, Expand Flexible Spot, and Eye AF.
