The FUJINON XF80mmF2.8 LM OIS WR Macro is ruggedly built and designed for extensive outdoor use, even in poor weather conditions and cold temperatures down to -10 degrees Celsius. The lens is equipped with 11 rubber seals against moisture and dust; the front lens is treated with fluorite, which repels water droplets, dirt and grease. A powerful Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) allows unsupported shooting at shutter speeds up to 5 stops slower than would normally be possible, meaning that carrying a tripod can now be a thing of the past. Autofocus is driven by Fujifilm's fast and quiet Linear Motor (LM), and a wide focus ring makes it easy to set focus manually. There are also three modes for focusing time selection; 0.25 m - infinity (full focus range); 0.5 m - infinity and 0.25 m - 0.5 m. To prevent the lens from resizing during focusing and to ensure the highest possible image quality at all distances from infinity to the close-up range (25 cm), the lens has an internal focusing and optical construction with so-called floating lens elements. The lens contains a total of 16 lens elements in 12 groups, including an aspherical lens that minimises spherical aberration and gives images high sharpness from centre to edges. One Super ED and three ED lenses eliminate chromatic aberration (chromatic aberration), which could otherwise be experienced as a distraction in contrasting subjects. The dimmer has 9 blades, giving a smooth and fine draw on blurred parts of the subject.
