Neutral density filters do not affect the colour of the image, and the 3.0 density provides a 10 aperture reduction for light entering the lens.<\/p>\n<p>The ND filter darkens the entire image, allowing the use of a wider aperture or slower shutter speed than normally required. The ND1000 10 Stop filter is used during the day outside of golden hour, as bright ambient light requires much more \u2019light blocking\u2019. These can extend exposure times up to 5 minutes during golden hour with the appropriate settings.<\/p>\n<p>When using neutral density filters, the camera is vulnerable to infrared light, which casts an unwanted red tint on images when shooting at low apertures. The infrared shielding layer added to this filter helps to eliminate the infrared light coming through the lens and restore the natural colour.<\/p>\n<p>NiSi's ultra-thin filter uses double-sided, multi-layered lens technology that uses high-quality optical glass. The frame is made of brass by precision brass milling.
