To maintain the same image quality and light output over the entire focal length, the lens has 20 elements in 13 groups. Six ED elements including 3 super ED elements and 2 aspherical elements have been used to correct chromatic aberrations and distortions. Also new are Nano-GI elements to keep reflections in check and a specially designed lens element that corrects for aberrations that easily occur with ultra-wide lenses. The lens has 11 rubber seals to protect against dust, dirt and grease and to withstand low temperatures. The focal length is equivalent to a 12-24mm lens in cinema size, and fits comfortably into the f\/2.8 repertoire of X series lenses to form a trio of high quality zoom lenses covering focal lengths from 12mm to 213mm (cinema size).<\/p>\n
