If bokeh is important, the Fujinon GF 80mm f/1.7 R WR is your choice. This lens is made for atmospheric images. It has a focal length equivalent in the small format (or so-called full-frame) of around 63mm. Its aperture equivalent is again f/2.2. Its 11 elements in eight groups include two super ED elements and one aspherical element to reduce chromatic aberration and colour bleed. Colour accuracy and brightness are on tap. Nano GI coating reduces reflections and other unfriendly effects. The lens is protected from weathering elements.

The lens has a manual aperture corrector which gives a very tangible sense of aperture adjustment.

The front element is coated with fluorine which repels dirt and water.The optical group is responsible for focusing, which means that the lens has no distortion over the entire focusing range. A nine-leaf dimmer helps to produce a smooth bokeh.

The internal focus mechanism makes focusing fast and the lens does not change length when focusing. Optical performance is good throughout the focus range.

The brass bayonet is durable and rigid and will hold its fixing tolerances for a long time.
