The Fujifilm Fujinon XF 18mm f/1.4 R LM WR continues Fuji's series of easy-to-carry fixed focal length lenses. The 28mm cinema equivalent lens is ideal for documentary photography, travel, nature, architectural photography and even astrophotography. Its f/1.4 maximum aperture is a good balance of size and speed, and is ideal for low light conditions. It offers good possibilities for deep depth of field composition. Background softness is creamy to say the least.

The optical formula contains the essential building blocks for image sharpness and fidelity. The Super EBC coating does wonders to control flare and haze and colour fidelity is spot on.

Fuji have cleverly put a linear motor in the glass which is usually reserved for large zoom lenses but now they have clearly gone for a fast glass for focusing too.

Weather protection makes shooting carefree, both at festivals and in the woods.
