The Hoya HD UV filter not only filters out unwanted UV light, but above all protects your precious lens from dirt and dings. The filter reduces the amount of ultraviolet radiation reaching the sensor, helping to soften colour contrast in high mountains or in the open sea, for example.

HD filters can withstand four times the impact of a standard filter glass. So you can practically punch Hoya HD filters without worrying about hitting them with a fist. ( We have not tested the filter's durability ourselves, so it's your own risk! )

Thanks to the high quality glass of the filter, ghosting and distortion are very low. The filter frame is low profile and durable. In addition, the filter Coating repels water and dirt and makes cleaning easier. (
