This lens is specially designed for full-frame DSLR cameras. Its outstanding feature is the 115° angle of view, which offers ”Zero-Distortion”. This greatly reduces the need for post-processing. Its compact size and light weight (Canon EF: 320g/Nikon F: 360g) distinguish it from other DSLR lenses of the same focal length. The 14mm f/4 with Canon EF mount is equipped with a chip that allows automatic aperture adjustment. This means that users can adjust the aperture directly in-camera and save all metadata in the EXIF data. In addition, the lens' extremely short minimum focusing distance of just 14.5 cm allows for exaggerated perspective and a creamy bokeh effect. The five-bladed aperture produces stunning 10-point sun stars. The lens' focus scale is adjustable, allowing its operating distance to be fine-tuned to the user's camera flange distance deviation. This is particularly useful for professionals and demanding enthusiasts. The optical design of the Laowa 14mm f/4 differs significantly from the previously released Laowa 14mm f4 FF RL Zero-D lens. The new optical design of the lens, consisting of 13 elements in 8 groups, including 2 additional low dispersion elements and 2 aspherical lenses, eliminates colour aberration and significantly improves image clarity and image quality from corner to corner.
