The Nikon AF-S Nikkor 50mm f/1.8G is the so-called basic lens, i.e. a lens with a focal length of 50mm. Its truly compact size, f/1.8 aperture and, for such a cheap lens, its freezing good draw make it one of Nikkor's best-selling lenses. The lens is suitable for both full-frame and DX system cameras. The 50mm angle of view with the full-frame is really good for documentary photography as well as potshots, when you get the camera close enough to the subject and pop in the full aperture you get really creamy bokeh. On DX cameras, this glass is good for tiny potshots and certain sports shots or similar activities.

AF-S autofocus is fast and quiet and is also ideal for moving subjects.

Thanks to its small size, the lens is also ideal as a travel companion for small bodies such as Nikon D750 or Nikon Z6 + FTZ adapter
