Nikon Z6 - Nikon's first cinema-quality mirrorless

Better late than never, Nikon Z6 opens up Nikon's game in the world of cinema mirrorless. An all-new sensor and a completely rethought body. The body image stabilizer and electronic viewfinder, things you never thought would come to Nikon, are finally here. This basic model has a 24.3 megapixel sensor. Fast autofocus and 273 focus points make focusing a breeze, and as it's a mirrorless unit that focuses directly from the sensor, you can be confident that your images will be unprecedentedly sharp. A tilting rear screen makes it easy to shoot in previously awkward shooting positions, and because it's not a fully tilting design, it's also quick to use. The main body of the camera features the LCD display for settings familiar from vintage cameras, but this time with a modern touch of e-ink.

Conveniently, the Nikon Z6 and Z7 both use the same body, and the batteries are the same so using two different bodies doesn't cause layout confusion. In a two-camera set-up you can jump from one body to the other intuitively and the only selection criterion is which one you use.

In video, Nikon has been the underdog so far but times have changed and Nikon has got on the nerves of time. Sharp 4k and good video AF is the order of the day and the Nikon Z series is definitely it. The image compression is modern and the focus transitions from point to point have been made smooth. The low light shooting is controlled and you won't be left wanting for anything else, the Nikon takes care of business at home.

Whether you pick up a Nikon Z7 or its little sister the Nikon Z6, depending on your needs, you won't be disappointed. Nikon has put everything into the game and even the price is close to what the basic consumer can afford. If your needs are higher resolution, the Z7 is your choice , if you're doing more documentary or shooting where a lot of footage is generated, the Nikon Z6 is the way to go. Nikon Z6 FTZ

Alongside the new Nikon mirrorless cameras, also released were Nikon FTZ adapter. The adapter allows you to get all Nikkor AF-S lenses to work natively with the Nikon Z6 and Z7, and of course with future bodies. AF-D lenses cannot be used with autofocus, at least not with this adapter, because it lacks a screw motor. However, you can use the lenses with manual focus, the Z6 has excellent focusing aids. The Nikon FTZ adapter is much cheaper to buy as a package with the body, and the lens range is also multiplied. We strongly recommend getting an adapter as well.

Firmware 3.0 - CFExpress support

Nikon Z6 gets the expected 3D tracking support with new firmware and generally improved autofocus. At last, autofocus can be said to be on a par with the competition and is good enough for any shooting. AF-S was already reliable and works in almost all cameras, the reform is specifically focused on improving AF-C mode.
