The Rode NTG2 is a very lightweight, yet durable professional shotgun microphone. The Rode NTG2 condenser microphone is well suited for use with both DSLR and video cameras. It can be powered by either AA batteries or Phantom power. The microphone can be attached to the camera's equipment list with separate holders, or used at the end of a boom, e.g. with a Blimp.

The microphone has a sensitivity of 20Hz-20kHz and is equipped with a high-pass filter. The filter is able to avoid low frequencies, so that e.g. traffic noise does not come through as strongly.

The microphone is supplied with a WSVM windscreen, which effectively reduces wind hum and plosives. For outdoor use, the DeadCat hair protector is recommended.
The Rode NTG2 microphone is designed and manufactured in Australia and is backed by Rode's 10-year warranty.
