Rode SmartLav+
The Rode smartLav+ is a high-quality neck microphone that can be used for television productions. The smartLav+ is a small microphone that picks up sounds accurately. When you need a high quality microphone that doesn't need to be seen, the smartLav+ is your choice.
Rode smartLav+ is very easy to use. Simply clip the microphone to your shirt collar or tie and plug the cord into your iPhone or other suitable recorder. The Rode Rec app can be found in the Apple app store and makes recording easy.
The directional pattern of the microphone is a sphere, so it picks up sound evenly from all sides. This makes mounting the microphone quick and easy, as you don't have to pay attention to the directionality.
The microphone is equipped with a foam windscreen, which reduces wind noise and attenuates loud consonants (k, t, p). The microphone cable is reinforced with Kevlar fibre, so the cord can withstand harsh conditions.
The Rode smartLav+ microphone is designed primarily for use with Apple iOS devices with the Rode Rec app, but it will work with any device capable of receiving audio from the TRRS connector. Rode Rec makes your iOS device a complete field recorder with numerous adjustment options. The app also allows you to upload audio files directly to SoundCloud and Dropbox.
