Rode Videomic brings your video sound closer to professional levels

The Rode VideoMic is equipped with Rode's revolutionary Rycote Lyre damping system, and is easy to mount on any camera with a flash shoe. The Video Mic is lightweight, and sized so that when it's in the camera it doesn't show up in the picture. The Video Mic can also be used with Roden booms to increase the pitch of the sound. Its supercardioid shape also reduces noise from the sides, resulting in a sound that sounds closer to the camera in noisy places. The included Rycote Lyre is an inelastic damping structure made of hard-wearing thermoplastic. It's more effective at isolating sounds from the microphone and attenuating cable-borne sounds than elastic attenuators. Lyre remains functional over wide temperature ranges and is virtually indestructible. It will never wear out, stretch or break and requires no retightening. The fixed threaded cable is fitted with a 3.5mm mini connector. The VideoMic is equipped with a capacitor element that uses a standard 9V battery (to be purchased separately). The mic will play for approximately 100 hours on a single battery. Sound is an important part of any video production. Recording sound in loud environments is easier because the microphone has built-in attenuation. A choice of 10 or 20 dB attenuation reduces the sensitivity of the mic to handle higher signal levels without compromising clarity.

High-Pass filter switch

The high-pass filter cuts room and ambience sounds below 80 Hz. This improves intelligibility and intelligibility when recording near machinery, wind or in confined spaces. Just turn the switch on and it works.
