Samyang's first zoom lens, the Samyang AF 35-150MM F2-2.8 - Sony FE really puts a beating on the tamron equivalent. The lens has a maximum aperture of f/2 at the widest and f/2.8 at the telephoto end, and covers the five most popular focal lengths of 35, 50, 85, 135 and 150mm.

The lens' optical construction consists of 21 elements in 18 groups of 2 ASP, 1 HB, 3 H-ASP and 6 ED elements, delivering superior optical performance throughout the zoom range.

UMC (Ultra Multi-Coating) technology is applied to the lenses to minimise reflections and ghosting, helping to produce natural and clear images. A large aperture helps to effectively separate the subject from the background, while 9 diaphragm blades create a smooth and attractive bokeh.

The lens' linear stepping motor (STM) is fast and highly sensitive, making it ideal for both photographers and videographers. It offers excellent focus tracking and smooth shifts. When shooting video, the AF speed is more precisely adjusted to mimic the focus control of a film lens. When switching to linear MF focus, the focus adjustment matches the torque of the focus ring as closely as possible to the torque of manual focus. The lens features a digital parfocal structure specialised for video photography. Once the subject is in focus in MF mode, there is no need to readjust the focus, even if it is zoomed in or out. This allows photographers to reduce shooting time and enables accurate and stable shooting. Samyang has also succeeded in keeping focus breathing to a minimum.

The lens is fully weatherproof, and weather sealing has been introduced over 12 lens areas to prevent damage or soiling by dust, light rain and snow. Custom switches and buttons on the side of the lens give the user full control of the lens. Three custom switches allow users to change the functions they want to use. The switches allow users to change functions such as focus lock, dolly shot, aperture ring and more. Samyang's lens mount will allow for more functions to be added in the future.

The MOD (Minimum Object Distance) is only 0.33 m. Combined with the fast aperture of the lens, it produces a unique perspective close to the subject and a beautifully blurred background.
