The Sony E 11mm f/1.8 is one of Sony's widest fixed focal length lenses for body cameras and offers a lightweight and compact design. The maximum aperture of f/1.8 adds brightness to images as well as the desired background blur. The ultra-wide focal length (16.5 mm focal length) is ideal for landscape, astrophotography, architectural photography or even vlogging.

The lens features two separate linear AF motors for quiet, fast and accurate autofocusing. The optical design of the lens provides full field-of-view accuracy and reduces distortion. A naturally smooth bokeh effect is achieved with seven rounded dimming lens blades. In addition, focus breathing is minimised with Smooth Motion Optics (SMO).

Even though the lens produces a very high quality image, it still weighs a mere 181 grams. Combined with Sony's APS-C camera, the whole set is a very compact size. On the side of the lens is an adaptive focus hold button, which can be programmed from the body to perform the desired function. Of course, the lens also has a weather seal to protect against dust and moisture.
