The ultra-wide-angle, high-luminosity G-master lens is aimed primarily at landscape, architecture and astrophotography photographers. Generally 14mm full cell lenses are f/2.8 lenses, the improvement in aperture is particularly noticeable in the quality of star images. The difference effectively means a difference in ISO 3200 -> ISO 1250, you get a significant difference in dynamics which for astrophotography is highly desirable. Optical image quality is of guaranteed G-master standard, edge to edge even at full aperture. Special elements and Nano AR II coatings ensure a contrasty image without ghosting, reflections or chromatic aberration.

Like the G-masters, the Sony FE 14mm is weatherproof and includes a programmable button on the body that lets you focus. The convex front glass and fixed lens hood doesn't allow the use of filters, but gel filters can be used on the rear of the lens and the product comes with a stylus for cutting them.
