Sony FE 16-35mm f/2.8 GM

A fast and flexible wide-angle zoom, the Sony FE 16-35mm f/2.8 GM or G-Master lens from Sony is designed for E-bayonet mirrorless cameras. With a maximum aperture of f/2.8 across the zoom range, it offers consistent performance and more possibilities in low-light conditions. The optical mali utilises two extra-low dispersion elements to reduce chroma aberrations, with two XA elements and three aspherical elements. The combination of these has achieved low circular aberrations and the end result is high levels of sharpness and brightness.

In addition, the nano AR coating keeps haze and side reflections at bay. So the colours are very accurate. To match the optical power, there's a substantial 11-leaf dimming aperture to achieve a soft, smooth edge-to-edge bokeh. Two direct drive motor SSM AF groups are used for focus control. Focus is fast and quiet, and supports responsive manual operation of the lens. The lens is also protected against dust and moisture. There is, of course, the Focus Hold button familiar from other G masters, and an AF/MF switch.
