AtomHDR image processing allows you to capture a wide dynamic range without losing true-life-color tones. The 10-bit display shows up to 1.07 billion colours, significantly more than a traditional 8-bit display. This is particularly useful for HDR imaging. In sunlight, it's also easy to use, with a whopping 3000nit peak brightness. The Atomos interface has a host of useful functions, including focus peaking, zebra, false colour, zoom, frame guides, RGB parade, waveform and vector scope. The Shogun 7 also has a robust body.

The inputs and outputs include HDMI in and out and 12/6/3G-SDI input/outputs. The latest updates include ISO recording of up to four HD-SDI streams and a program stream.

The resolution is up to DCI 4K (4096 x 2160) @ 60p and up to 2K @ 240p for slow motion effects. You can record to 2.5″ SSDs using Apple ProRes Raw, ProRes, CinemaDNG (max 30p), and Avid DNxHD codecs.

The Shogun 7's 10-bit (8+2 FRC) panel features 360-degree backlighting with a brightness of up to 3000 cd/m² and a contrast ratio of up to 1,000,000:1. Native AtomHDR (log) accurately displays log gamma material. Built-in profiles correctly display log material from ARRI, Canon, Fujifilm, JVC, Nikon, Panasonic, RED, and Sony cameras.
