Canon EOS R10 - the gateway fume to Canon's system

The Canon EOS R10 represents Canon's mirrorless R system with an affordable angle of view for enthusiasts. The camera is a reasonable size for a bayonet, and meets all the needs of a basic hybrid camera. The R10 brings APS-C sensor size to the R system, with fast shooting, intelligent autofocus, and surprisingly good 4K video.

24.2MP APS-C CMOS sensor and DIGIC X Processor. 24-26 megapixels would seem to be the golden ratio for aps-C cells, and this device's 24.2 million pixels fit the bill nicely. The sensor is suitable for both general shooting and UHD 4K video. The file sizes are easy to halve. The Digic X processor is borrowed from Canon's (current) flagship R3 and handles a number of tasks with aplomb. Speed is up to 23 fps with the silent electronic shutter and 15 fps with the mechanical shutter. ISO sensitivity at best hovers around 51200 when extended if there's a really bad light shortage.

UHD 4K video is possible with an R10 sensor that comes out at 8-bit at up to 60 frames per second (if you're willing to crop) and the highest quality 30 frames per second image comes from supersampled 6K footage. This reduces noise, moire, and sharpness is better. The best slowdown is found at FullHD 1080 resolution with a frame rate of 120fps.

HDR-PQ recording to an external recorder is possible, resulting in 10-bit video. In this case, the goods move via micro-HDMI (HDMI D connector). An external microphone can also be attached to the device.

Dual Pixel CMOS AF II is also inherited from the EOS R3 camera. The focus is ripped from 651 AF points covering the entire area of the sensor. Focusing is quite fast and accurate. It's phase detection, which is the state of the art. The focus only needs -4 EV of light to focus.

2.36 million dot OLED viewfinder is a joy to use and leaves no hope for old-fashioned searches. Magnification of 0.95x and a refresh rate of 120 fps make operation pleasant and lively. The screen on the body is again a 3 inch omnidirectional vari-angle LCD with 1.04 million dots.

A UHS-II SD card will do, and there is one slot for it. Wireless data transfer is via 2.4GHz wifi or bluetooth.
