The new Nikon Z-series is growing fast and the latest announcement is this wide-angle prime with f/1.8 aperture. Optically, the Z-series is comparable to the f/1.4 G-series, it has excellent drawings and, because they've compromised on aperture by a hair, it's also a very compact size. The closest focusing distance of the newcomer is just 0.25 metres, making the lens extremely versatile, from close-ups to landscapes. The focusing distance also allows for effective use in video.

The 24mm, like the other Z-series, is weatherproof against dust and water droplets.
