Nikon Z50 II + Nikkor Z 16-50mm f/3.5 - 6.3 VR
A versatile and compact package to get you started in photography. Comes with a very small 16-50mm basic lens
The Nikon Z50 II system camera is a powerful yet compact mirrorless system camera designed for emerging creatives. Featuring a 20.9 megapixel APS-C CMOS sensor and interchangeable lens mount, it offers a range of cutting-edge features and compatibility with the full NIKKOR Z lens range to elevate your content above your smartphone.
20.9 megapixel DX-format CMOS sensor and EXPEED 7 image processor
The combination of a 20.9 megapixel DX format CMOS sensor and the same EXPEED 7 image processing engine offers a versatile blend of sensitivity, subtle image quality, fast AI autofocus and full resolution continuous shooting at up to 30 frames per second. At its original values of ISO 100-51200, the sensitivity range allows you to work in a wide range of lighting conditions, and can be extended up to ISO 204800 in very low light. The combination of resolution and sensor size also contributes to clean image quality and smooth colour transitions with reduced noise over the entire sensitivity range.
Nikon's most advanced autofocus
Taking advantage of inherited algorithms and deep learning technology from the Z9, including complex object detection for nine different object types, the Z50 II can detect a variety of discrete objects, from people to animals, aircraft and bicycles. The popular dedicated bird detection mode is also included. When working in Auto-Area AF mode, these subjects are automatically identified, focused and tracked, ensuring sharp focus as the subject moves in the frame.
Eye Detection AF in particular is tuned for better accuracy and more refined eye detection in the scene, and can also be used in combination with custom wide-area AF for subjects of different shapes and sizes.
Pre-Release Capture
The EXPEED 7 processor also enables pre-recording, which makes it easier to capture decisive moments by recording images in bursts up to one second before the shutter is released. When this function is activated, continuous shooting starts when the shutter button is pressed halfway, and the buffer retains images after the shutter button is fully pressed.
UHD 4K video recording
The Z50 II not only captures still images but also offers enhanced video recording capabilities, now supporting UHD 4K video recording at up to 60 frames per second and Full HD recording at up to 120 frames per second. There is also a product review mode, recording time limits of up to two hours, a video self-timer function, built-in electronic vibration reduction and the option to save movie files to camera memory cards or an optional external recorder via HDMI. The camera is also capable of time-lapse shooting and can produce a ready-to-use UHD 4K video file directly from the camera.
Nikon's first Z50 II is UAC and UAV compatible for real-time webcasting. In addition, you can now record 10-bit video internally with Nikon's N-Log LUT and use the four new RED LUTs.
Colour management
Nikon has added a Picture Control button to the Z50 II to allow the use of its 31 built-in presets in auto mode. Colour settings can now be displayed on the rear LCD screen, allowing you to visualise colour changes as you shoot. Creator Recipes created by other Nikon photographers are available via the Nikon Imaging Cloud and can be downloaded and integrated alongside the presets. In addition, Nikon offers a one-year subscription to its Cloud Picture Controls software so you can use your own presets with professional editing tools.
