A super wide-angle lens based on the Micro Four Thirds standard. Despite its impressive wide-angle zoom range of 7-14 mm (equivalent to 14-28 mm in a 35 mm camera), this lens is surprisingly compact and lightweight. It's easy to carry around. The 114-degree angle of view makes it easy to capture subjects, even when shooting indoors or when you need to take a close-up. The world looks different through this new lens. Photographs and film clips will take on a unique perspective. This powerful and compact lens system consists of 16 lenses divided into 12 groups. Of these, 2 are aspherical and 4 are ED lenses. Image resolution remains high, even at angles when shooting wide-angle. Lens power is F4.0 throughout the zoom range thanks to the large glass-moulded lenses.

When this lens is attached to the Lumix G Micro System body, you can use advanced contrast-based autofocus, autofocus tracking and face detection. The aperture is circular thanks to seven blades. Therefore, the out-of-focus area remains comfortably smooth when using a higher aperture value. This lens also features a highly durable metal mount. It uses multi-layer lenses to reduce ghosting and reflections and improve optical performance. The Micro Four Thirds System standard thus allows for a compact size and low weight. Despite its very small size, this lens has excellent optical performance. It uses a 4/3-type image sensor, so Live View works more smoothly with the camera body.
