The Rode Videomic NTG is a broadcast-grade, versatile shotgun microphone optimized for on-camera use. Its design is the same as the revolutionary NTG5 broadcast shotgun mic, which produces an unprecedented transparent, natural and colourless sound. Add to this an amazingly smooth frequency response, a highly directional supercardioid polar pattern, and extremely low noise, and you have a truly compact on-camera mic that rivals the best shotgun mics in the world. In addition to the great sound, the VideoMic NTG is extremely versatile, with a wide range of tools and features for every recording situation. The digital switch offers an over-pass filter, -20dB aiming, high-pitched boost and a safety channel. Plus, the mic has unlimited gain that allows you to adjust the output just right for you. Its automatic 3.5mm output detects when the mic is connected to a device (camera or mobile device) and switches accordingly. The mike also has a handy dB spike warning light, so you can always see that your voice isn't going to the mikes.
