The Samyang V-AF 24mm T1.9 - Sony FE is a compact and lightweight semi-wide oblique lens that offers a particularly good and beautiful drawing, improved autofocus and a bunch of ergonomic improvements. A new optical formula allows this relatively affordable lens to compete in the same class with much more expensive brand-name lenses.

The Samyang V-AF film lenses are designed for Sony's E-mount and have a number of exciting and important features, including tracking gears, an indicator light and a uniform design element for the entire series. The uniform weight and size of the lenses makes them easier to use with levers, telescopes and other accessories, as they do not require time-consuming rebalancing. The lens range includes 20mm T1.9, 24mm T1.9, 35mm T1.9, 45mm T1.9 and 75mm T1.9.

The V-AF series supports up to 8K resolution but remains small and lightweight, ideal for handheld articulated lenses and drones, as well as for studio and outdoor productions. To avoid shifting when changing lenses, all lenses in the new series are colour-matched, and the nine blades of the aperture allow for a natural-looking bokeh.

The indicator light in the front tells you when the camera is recording. This is a feature much appreciated by tweets, for example.

On the side of the lens is an adjustable dial, where you can set the focus ring to adjust the manual focus or aperture. Below the switch is a focus hold button to lock the focus at a specific distance. By upgrading the software, the user can assign other functions to the slide switch.

The V-AF 24mm T1.9 lens is constructed of eleven elements in eight groups, with two ED, two ASP and two HR special lenses to give your video a sharp cinematic look. Focusing is handled by Samyang's linear stepping motor, which minimises shake and noise with quiet and smooth autofocus. The circular nine-blade design of the aperture creates gentle bokeh and background blur, giving the subject itself a deep-dimensional look.
