Sigma introduces the Sony E-mount 28-45mm f/1.8 DG DN Art, the world's first zoom lens designed for full-frame mirrorless cameras with an aperture of f/1.8 throughout the zoom range. It offers unrivalled optical performance and is specifically designed for video photography. Its wide-normal focal length means a lighter camera bag without compromising image quality.

Design and Performance
The lens has a total of 18 elements in 15 groups, including three aspherical elements and five special low-dispersion elements that minimise flare and ghosting and prevent various aberrations. This results in optical performance that matches or exceeds that of other Sigma Art lenses, including prime lenses. The lens produces a very beautiful bokeh, thanks to its 11-blade and rounded diaphragm blades.
In addition to the maximum aperture of f/1.8, the lens maintains a minimum focusing distance of 30.2 cm throughout the zoom range. It achieves a maximum magnification ratio of 1:4 at its longest focal length, increasing depth of field and versatility in confined spaces.

Video production
Designed with video creation in mind, the lens' bright f/1.8 aperture and wide-normal zoom range make it a versatile tool. The built-in zoom design maintains overall length during use, making it easy to balance with gimbals. The design also reduces focus breathing for smooth zooming throughout the focal length range. Sigma's fast, high-response linear actuator autofocus remains both quiet and accurate, while manual focus is enhanced by click and lock mechanisms.
