The Sony ECM-W2BT brings vloggers with cameras equipped with a digital MI interface a handy lavalier microphone. Using the latest Bluetooth technology, the sound is high quality and reliable, with delay-free sourcing capability.

The miniature snap-on mic is multi-directional and really easy to use. Quick interview situations go wirelessly from there. The transmitter also has a 3.5mm input, so you can connect an even more invisible microphone, such as the separately available ECM-LV1.

The compact receiver connects directly to the MI gearbox, allowing the system to run for 9 hours with a little help from the camera's electronics. The transmitter and receiver are powered by built-in rechargeable lithium-ion batteries. Without the MI connection, the system will run for up to 3 hours on a single charge. If the camera's MI interface is digital, the direct connection to the camera makes the signal really clean.

Digital audio is compatible with the a7R IV and newer Sony devices, while analogue audio is compatible with all Sony cameras with the traditional Multi Interface Shoe.

The receiver has a built-in microphone, and three settings that let you pick up audio from either the transmitter, the camera operator, or both at the same time. The receiver also has a 3.5mm output for more traditional cameras, and comes with a TRS cable and USB cable, not forgetting the windscreen.

High-quality, advanced Bluetooth is fast and easy to use. Qualcomm aptX Low-Latency Bluetooth codec transfers stuff between the transmitter and receiver. The signal is very low latency and high quality. Sound travels up to 200 meters in good conditions.
