The Sony FE 24mm f/2.8 G combines the beloved 24mm focal length and compact size in a package that's suitable for almost any use. Whether you're shooting landscape, street, or documentary potracks, the Sony FE 24mm f/2.8 GM is well suited for the job.

Classic polttis, but in a well-executed ultra-compact form. The multi-purpose focal length has been superbly corrected optically and sharpness and brightness are top quality.

The optical formula has extra-low dispersion and aspherical elements to correct for things that tend to screw up in images, such as various aberrations, color fringing, and distortions. The optical surfaces have good coatings to remove haze and the contrast is really good. The optics are driven by a linear XD motor that makes focusing fast, accurate and quiet. Weather protection leaves no worries either.

The lens is designed for very high resolutions and the image is sharp from edge to edge. It is very rigid and intuitive to use in both still and cine mode. The wide-angle 24mm is designed for Sony's cinema cameras (also suitable for APS-C sensors with a focal length equivalent to 36mm).

Aspherical elements eliminate astigmatism (whatever that is), field curvature, coma and distortion.

The two linear XD motors can be controlled by an AF/MF switch and a polarised focus ring. There is also a focus hold button where you can of course program other things. The aperture can also be ”de-clicked” if you want to adjust the aperture silently.

Fluorine coating on the front element repels grease and dirt.

7 sharp rounded dimmer makes background softening quite smooth.
