The Sony FE 400-800mm f/6.3-8 G OSS is the longest zoom lens in the Sony E mount. It is an excellent choice for wildlife, nature and sports photography. This new addition to the G series further blurs the boundaries between G and GM lenses by offering top quality at a more affordable price.
The lens features an internal zoom for improved comfort of use, and dual linear motors for fast and smooth autofocus. The Optical SteadyShot image stabilizer has three separate modes, and the lens also features a focus limiter and three focus lock buttons for precise control. An included fixed, swiveling tripod mount enhances stability and sharpness.

An unprecedented dimension
This is the first zoom lens in the Alpha series to reach a focal length of 800 mm. Compatibility with 1.4x and 2x telephoto zooms extends the focal length up to 1120 mm and 1600 mm. This makes the lens an ideal choice for bird and wildlife photographers, allowing them to shoot from a safe distance. The smooth and precise movement of the zoom ring helps prevent unintended focal length changes.

Functionality and usability
This super telephoto zoom surpasses the FE 200-600mm f/5.6-6.3 G OSS by offering longer reach and better performance with only slightly more weight (2.47kg). A short zoom range allows for quick focus adjustments.

The front lens can be fitted with helical filters to improve shooting possibilities in different lighting conditions.

There are several function switches on the body of the lens that allow you to quickly change settings, such as the AF/MF selector, image stabilisation mode and focus limiter.
