The ZV-1 II features an 18-50mm f/1.8-4 wide-angle zoom lens. Stylish and lightweight, it's ideal for one-handed shooting. The upgraded autofocus with Face Detection allows you to focus on multiple faces simultaneously. The new shape is also ideal for narrow interiors or as a dynamic accent in everyday life.

Inside the ZV-1 II are familiar imaging features such as a 20.1 megapixel 1″ Exmor RS stacked CMOS sensor and BIONZ X image processor, contributing to impressively fast performance, ISO sensitivity 125 - 12800 for video and still images. The processor uses Real-Time Eye AF and Real-Time Tracking for fast and accurate focusing and subject tracking, and an Active Mode image stabilizer to ensure smooth footage and reduce camera shake.

A 3″ side-facing touchscreen makes front-facing composition and operation easy by putting manual and automatic controls at your fingertips. The camera features a suite of automatic touch functions including Touch AE, Touch Tracking, Touch Focus and Touch Shutter. The ZV-1 II also features a Product Showcase setting, Background Defocus, Soft Skin Effect and Face Priority Auto Exposure.

The camera's Cinematic Vlog setting, Slow & Quick shooting mode and its smart built-in microphone make it easier to produce edited content. The Cinematic Vlog setting triggers a fixed 2.35:1 aspect ratio and 24 fps frame rate while offering a choice of ”Looks” and ”Moods” options to enhance the aesthetics of the image. Slow and Fast mode allows you to adjust the frame rate in-camera up to 5x slower and 60x faster simply from the screen.

The built-in three-capsule microphone is omnidirectional, and when used in auto mode, it uses the camera's face and object recognition software to select the best direction for the microphone.A 3.5mm microphone jack and a multi-purpose shoe allow compatibility with external microphones. The camera comes with a windscreen to ensure clear sound when shooting outdoors.

The camera supports extended UHD 4K video recording at 30p and the USB-C port can be used for recording while charging or in conjunction with an external recorder or monitor if desired. Your footage will also benefit from Sony's S-Log3/2 and HLG image profiles, which match their professional cinema counterparts for sophisticated colour, dynamic range and detail.

• The Soft Skin Effect can be used to soften and smooth away wrinkles or blemishes on the face to create a natural, smooth complexion. The default setting is Mid and can be adjusted to Off, Low or High.
• For longer shots, extended continuous video recording is available when you set the auto power off temperature to high.
• An advanced image stabilisation mode ensures a stable video image on the move, even when hand-held and walking. This mode combines optical and electronic stabilisation techniques for more effective results - when recording HD video in Active mode, camera shake is reduced by up to 11 times more than with standard SteadyShot.
