Venus Optics Laowa 7.5mm f/2 MFT AE - first Laowa with automatic aperture
The Venus Optics Laowa 7.5mm f/2 MFT AE is an autofocus version of the classic. A CPU chip and motor have been added to this version to move the iris. Focus magnification also now starts automatically when the focus ring is turned. This is a super wide angle with a stunning F2 aperture for Microfourthirds systems like Olympus and Panasonic. The product is the widest F2 MFT lens with direct focusing, generally such wide lenses are fisheye lenses. Good aperture and a focal length of around 15mm make this an excellent lens for star and landscape photography. The glass also accepts filters thanks to the 46mm filter threads. This is the lens Olympus owners have been waiting for, the only comparable product is Olympus 7-14mm F2.8 Pro, which is larger, more expensive and does not accept traditional filters, only plate filters.
The optical structure is composed of 13 lenses in 9 groups. There are three extra-low dispersion elements and two aspherical elements for a sharp, contrasty image. The front element of the lens is coated to repel dust and moisture.
