Panasonic's new Lumix GH5 Mark II continues in the footsteps of Panasonic's popular GH5 model with even better features. The design has been specifically focused on video recording and streaming.

The GH5 Mark II is a great tool for professional video and media production. The camera features an all-new processor that enables it to record 10-bit 4:2:0 4K video simultaneously to a memory card and 4:2:2 raw to an external storage device. The camera's autofocus and image stabilisation have also undergone a major overhaul, enabling more stable and accurate images. The autofocus responds more quickly to changing subjects and supports new object recognition.

The GH5 Mark II is also a great tool for live streaming, which you can do wirelessly from your computer or phone using the Lumix Sync app, directly to YouTube, Twitch or Facebook, for example.

The biggest changes compared to the GH5 II GH5:

• Sensori The 20.3 MP Live MOS sensor now features AR (anti-reflective) coating and an updated Venus 10 engine. This has improved the speed and performance of the sensor, which has allowed for improved video and continuous shooting capabilities.
• Revamped GH5 II, Lumix S1H with 5-axis sub-system image stabilizer now has a power of 6.5 apertures instead of 5.
• In automatic focus there are no significant changes. Only the Face/Eye focus from the GH5 has been joined by Head/Body/Animal AF.
• Cartoon in features the only change is that the GH5 II can shoot in burst mode RAW+JPEG 108+ and JPEG 999+ before the buffer fills up. ( Compare GH5: RAW+JPEG 60+ and JPEG 600+ )
• Video specs are basically the same in the GH5 and GH5 II, but the GH5 II has slightly more FPS and bit depth options. The GH5 II supports C4k 4:2:2 10-bit resolution at 30p, while the GH5 only supported 24p. C4K 4:2:0 10-bit resolution can shoot at up to 60p, while the GH5 didn't have this feature at all. Also, standard 4K is possible on the GH5 II at 60p, while the GH5 only supported 30p. The GH5 supported 4k 4:2:2 10-bit up to 60p recording externally via HDMI, but the GH5 II can record 4:2:0 10-bit video to a memory card at the same time. A coveted improvement is the GH5 II's V-log L log mode, as in the GH5 it had to be purchased separately.
• Streaming from features are perhaps the biggest differences between the GH5 models. The GH5 could only be connected to a computer with LUMIX Tether software for streaming, but the GH5 II features a completely new wireless streaming method. It even supports FullHD 60p resolution. Streaming is done via the LUMIX sync smartphone app or by connecting directly to a Wi-Fi router. A future software update will add RTP/RTSP wireless IP streaming capability.
• Display is almost identical on both GH5 cameras. On the GH5 II, the screen is only 0.2" smaller, but 220 thousand pixels sharper.
• Battery is 2200mAh on the GH5 II, which is slightly more than the GH5 (1860mAh), but the battery life is still almost the same.
