Sony E 18-135mm f/3.5-5.6 OSS - the all-round travel lens

The Sony E 18-135mm f/3.5-5.6 OSS covers a really convenient focal length range, from 18mm to a staggering 135mm. This is comparable in terms of focal lengths to a 27-202.5mm focal length glass. To make it easier to use the long telephoto head, an optical image stabilizer, Optical SteadyShot, has been introduced to reduce image wobble so that your image is sharp when shooting handheld.

Sharp images are also made easier by the linear autofocus motor, which makes focusing fast and accurate. It's also very quiet, which is a plus for video operations. The lens design is top quality and features extra-low dispersion elements and aspherical elements, to correct for any image-degrading noise throughout the zoom range.

• The telephoto end of the zoom range of this lens has a focal length of 202.5 mm (equivalent to 35 mm). It is therefore suitable for general photography and particularly well suited for landscape, nature and portrait photography, for example.
• The optical structure has a single aspherical element that keeps the resolution high from the centre to the edges of the image. Two ED (Extra-low Dispersion) elements effectively reduce colour aberrations. Built-in optical image stabilisation keeps the image stable for hand-held shooting.
• The minimum focusing distance is only 0.45 m (maximum magnification 0.29x). This, combined with the circular aperture, produces a beautiful bokeh blur in the background of close-ups, for example when shooting sweets, flowers or animals, where some of the subjects appear in focus.
• The autofocus system's precise linear motor delivers fast, accurate and quiet focusing, perfect for both video and stills.
