Sony FE 200-600mm f/5.6-6.3 G OSS - the budget-friendly choice for birdwatchers

The Sony FE 200-600mm f/5.6-6.3 G OSS, is aimed at hobbyists, but is also suitable for professional nature and sports photographers. The lens will satisfy many photographers and videographers looking for a little extra length in their cinema E-bayonet cameras. Like all G-series lenses, the lens is designed to excel in resolution and sharpness, with minimal distortion. This is nicely achieved thanks to five ED elements, one aspherical element, Nano AR and fluorine coatings. In addition, the lens is relatively compact because the aperture is kept to a moderate f/5.6-6.3.

Focusing and image stabilisation are achieved with Direct Drive SSM autofocus and Optical SteadyShot image stabilisation. Throughout the lens, a variety of controllers are built in, allowing you to tailor your lens to your shooting style. Among these is a zoom stiffness control. The lens is internally zooming, meaning the tube doesn't get longer at the telephoto end. The close focus is 240cm and you can limit the focus range with a switch.

Other physical controls include programmable focus hold buttons, an AF/MF switch, and a detachable rotating tripod collar. All topped off with weatherproof construction and an eleven-blade rounded dimmer.
