A tripod can often be the tool that saves the picture. We strongly believe that every photographer should own a tripod, if only as a backup. A tripod is not only a way to stabilise the camera, but can also be used as a stand for things, a flash bracket and of course a monopod as a walking stick.

It is often worth sizing the pedestals well above the manufacturer's load ratings, which are measured maximum loads and do not correspond to reality. As a rule of thumb, you can divide the load rating by 4 and get a true picture.

A good tripod, when used and maintained correctly, will easily last for several decades and we recommend buying a good quality tripod directly, such as Sirui or Manfrotto, which also has a long warranty period.

When choosing a base, it is worth taking into account what the head will be used for, as most applications have their own type of head. For general use, the best choice is a ball head. For video use, a video head that is stabilized with a counterweight to make the video look much smoother. For large telephones, we recommend the gimbal.
